Offering up the sound, feel and playability of a Super-ST-style electric guitar for a more accessible price, Sire and Larry Carlton present the S3. The instantly familiar body shape couples with the classic playing feel of a hard maple neck with a C-profile carve and a rosewood fretboard which has been given Sire's Edgeless treatment, resulting in smooth, rolled edges that support maximum comfort and agile fret navigation. The set of twenty-two 2.7mm medium-jumbo frets lighten up the playability even further while the modern two-point tremolo bridge can be harnessed to wield subtle to extreme vibrato effects. The Sire Larry Carlton S3: Big & Warm Sound The neck has been securely bolted on to boost the resonance and warmth of the solid mahogany body while the maple and rosewood inject some sweet definition, balancing out the acoustic foundation. The body has been rounded-off and contoured in all the right places, which doesn't just raise the comfort but lowers the weight, and when you plug it in, the amplified sound of the S3 is shaped by an HSS-configured set of Sire Standard-ST pickups. The humbucker sitting at the bridge and the single-coil sitting at the neck and in the middle combine with a five-way selector switch and a volume and tone pot to take this six-string everywhere from round and rich, sparkling cleans to thick and juicy, all-out distortions.
