The AZ Series from Ibanez is the result of close collaboration with guitarists from around the world and as such, the Japanese made AZ2402 Prestige has been carefully crafted for agility and flexibility. The maple neck and fretboard have both undergone the special Ibanez S-Tech wood-roasted treatment for enhanced durability and stability, by making the wood more resistant to humidity and temperature shifts. The neck has then been finished with oil to add another layer of protection and a familiar, played-in feel and features an AZ Oval C-profile that sits comfortably in the palm along the entire length of the, while twenty-four hard-wearing, stainless-steel jumbo frets only add to the playing comfort. The Ibanez AZ2402: Effortless Playability The solid alder body has been contoured in all the right places to ensure an immediately snug feel and, since the T1802 synchronised tremolo bridge was developed in collaboration with Gotoh, vibrato and divebomb effects can be applied with smooth and effortless ease. The bridge combines with a set of Gotoh H.A.P-M locking machine heads for optimal tuning stability and the height of the string posts can even be adjusted to customise the string tension. Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups & dyna-MIX10 Switching Ibanez have also worked alongside the venerable Seymour Duncan to develop the mounted medium-gain Hyperion humbucker pickups, giving this instrument its warm, full, alnico-5-sound, which is coloured in with transparent attack that loses none of its clarity even when distorted. The Ibanez Dyna-MIX 10 switching system is where the sheer level of flexibility offered by the AZ2402 shows itself. This system features an Alter switch, which grants access to no fewer than ten different tone options via just one humble guitar.
