To assure you that you're holding an ultra-high-grade model in you hands, the EVH Wolfgang Special QM comes topped with quilted maple. This special edition of the timeless legend has been given a super-stable baked maple neck that's been coated in a butter-smooth satin-gloss, bolted on and finished with a Wolfgang Backshape profile to offer maximum playability, whether you're a die-hard Van Halen fan or not. The Wolfgang Special QM: Snug Yet Fast Feel The Wolfgang Special has been fitted with 22 jumbo frets for a lighter touch that supports fast fret tapping, and since driving riffs are just as essential as blistering leads, the fretboard has been given a compound radius that ensures a snug feel when grabbing chords as well as low string resistance when spinning notes further up the neck. Hit the Ground Running When it comes to the sound, the lightweight basswood body and maple neck combo lays down a full mid-range foundation with a touch of bite. Meanwhile, two of Eddie's own double-coiled EVH Wolfgang Alnico II pickups provide the necessary cream, and besides the three-way selector switch, is steered via a set of Bourns tone and volume pots. The High Friction tone pot has been designed to stay exactly where it's set, while the Low Friction volume pot comes backed up by a Treble Bleed circuit that sets up the output with enough trebles no matter the volume level and accommodates expressive swells. Add the tremolo-trick-potential and tuning stability provided by the Floyd Rose bridge and R2 locking nut, and the convenient flexibility of a D-tuna, and you have a fearsome tone-machine.
