Loaded with NOS Mullard/Valvo OC45 germanium transistors, the Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium Raw puts an original spin on the sound of the Klon and Dumble - two truly legendary pedals. This dual-channel amp-in-a-box/overdrive effect pedal shapes slightly rockier sound than the non-Raw edition and lets you use both channels independently or in series. You also get a passive effects loop for integrating your favourite stompboxes and, since this box of sonic tricks runs on 18 Volts, you can count on masses of headroom and an outstanding response. Each unit is painstakingly put together in Greece. The Unobtanium Raw: From a Transparent Boost to Obscene Overdrive The right half of the Unobtanium Raw is home to a K-style overdrive circuit with OC45 transistors for surprisingly versatile sound that can be accessed by flipping the stock/OC45 switch. The broad range of the gain control ranges from a transparent boost up to a rough-edged overdrive with lots of headroom and extra sustain, and you also get a mini-switch for toggling between true and buffered bypass. Over on the left, you'll find the D-style amp-in-a-box, which sets you up with a subtle clean boost that can be pushed all the way to lilting, tightened-up overdrive. Here, the Emphasis pot lets you tweak the presence and bass response in great detail, while the mini-switch can be engaged to select SSS mode for organic compression or ODS mode for more gain and more harmonics.
