With the expert guidance of Portugal vocalist and rhythm guitarist, John Gourley, Gretsch presents a signature edition Electromatic semi-acoustic complete with classic Broadkaster body and throwback detailing. Dipped in an exclusive Iridescent Black, the paint-job of this six-string literally colour-shifts depending on the angle, evoking the vibe of the northern lights that can be seen from the band's OG hometown in Alaska. The Gretsch logo stamped on the silver plexi pickguard is also joined by custom artwork by Cleon Peterson, completing the full and unique Electromatic Broadkaster picture. The Gretsch Electromatic John Gourley Broadkaster: Plenty of Sparkle + Sweet, Brutal Growl In terms of sound, this electric hollow-body also has plenty to say. The body has been built from solid slices of laminated maple, stabilised by a spruce centre block to give the acoustic tone a powerful and solid yet fully defined presence. Amplified, this model doesn't just bring some classic Gretsch sparkle but a brutal growl, all thanks to two USA Full'Tron pickups backed up by a classic set of tone and volume controls and a three-way switch. Expressive tremolo action is assured by an Anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby B70 vibrato tailpiece and, to ensure stable tuning as well quick re-strings, Gourley has selected a set of locking tuners.
