Marco Sfogli is maybe one of the most influential guitarists that walks the Earth. Known for his work with Icefish and Dream Theater's own James LaBrie (among others), the maestro has finally been granted his very own signature model. The Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 Marco Sfogli Signature has been kitted out to match Sfogli's hyper-versatile playing, so this solid alder-bodied guitar has been given a full set of EMG pickups able to span everything from metal to jazz and fusion. The balanced active setup slaps an EMG89 humbucker at the bridge and an SA single-coil in the middle and neck positions which can be flipped into every conceivable configuration, and since the double-coil pickup can be split, the range is doubled. The baked neck is finished with a caramelised maple fretboard with a comfy compound radius that graduates from a flattish 12 inches at the headstock to a flatter 16 inches at the body to support a snug grip on chords as well as licks. And as a neat final touch, full guidance is provided by a set of Luminlay side dots.
