Just before the beginning of the '70s, Gibson dropped the guitar that would become an enduring icon for decades to comes. It was in developing this model, that the canny American guitar builders discovered that they could neatly slot mini-humbuckers into the P-90 sized pickup cavities, so you could get the same hum-free output as a full-sized humbucker, but has that tighter, more sparkling double-coil sound that was demanded by the guitar-based music that was emerging at the time. As an ode to the OG, the Les Paul Deluxe 70s has been added to the Original Collection. It also comes complete with a form-fitting hardshell case. The Les Paul Deluxe 70s: Seventies Style & Modern Construction In line with every classic single-cut that Gibson have ever produced, the body of this LP is completed by a maple top, set-in mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fretboard, while the 12-inch radius combined with the Rounded-C profile of the neck for that tight and authentic playing feel. The chrome-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge and lightweight aluminium StopBar tailpiece, of course, can't be left out, and neither can the period-accurate set of Keystone tuners. Another very welcome modern tweak lies in the additon of a Graph Tech nut for enhanced intonation and tuning stability. In short, this model manages to take all of the very best bits of the seventies original and bring them bang up-to-date via a contemporary construction.
