Highly detailed 132 scale assembly model kit of the Mercedes D.III, or F1466, a six-cylinder, liquid-cooled inline engine built by Daimler and used on a wide variety of German aircraft during World War I. First introduced in 1914, the Mercedes D.III was based on the same pattern as the earlier D.II and was capable of delivering up to 160 horsepower, although later version will improve its output to 170 hp. Although widely regarded as a product of superb engineering, the D.III was nevertheless considered outdated when compared to more advanced Allied engines such as later model Hispano-Suiza aero engines. This detailed 132 scale assembly kit by RODEN comes with photo-etched parts as well as a simple display base (black).
