The Megadeth mastermind, Dave Mustaine and Gibson have joined forces to bring us the Flying V EXP. This Artist Collection edition features all of the specs needed to support face-melting and bone-shattering riffs and leads. While this solid-bodied axe is based on vintage Flying V models, it's been built by and for the iconic metal guitarist and vocalist. So, according to Mustaine's wishes, the USA V has been given a six-in-line headstock and the scale length has been adjusted to 25.5 inches to tighten things up a bit. The Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP comes pre-wrapped in a custom hardshell case which, like the back of the headstock, comes stamped with a silhouette of the man himself. The Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP: Take No Prisoners Naturally, both the body and set-in neck have been hewn from mahogany, while a dark ebony fretboard completes the classic build and also features some symmetrical shark tooth inlay work. Amplified, this one-off six-string doesn't disappoint thanks to the Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Signature Thrash Factor humbuckers at the bridge and neck. These pickups take the foundation of a passive JB and 59 pup and add active electronics to stabilise things, resulting in tightened up basses, lightly scooped mids and aggressive trebles.
